Q: Does your company help us evaluate our budget, environment or proposals to help us maximize value?
A: Yes.

Q: Can you help us with migrating to the cloud?
A: Yes.

Q:  Does your company help ensure high support standards are met?
A:  Yes!  SMBCIOs will work with an existing company or help source an IT help desk or IT support organization and can even provide support in managing the outsourced providers. Picking the right outsourced provider and applying the right standards, practices, and accountability can result in reduced downtown, increased productivity, and lower overall costs.

Q: Are there really that many differences between “IT guys” or different “IT Companies”?
A: Yes. The IT field is highly specialized and even among companies that provide general IT support there can be vast differences in pricing, approach, service delivery, and contract terms.  Are you in a long-term IT support contract? Did you know you don’t have to be?

Q: What do part-time, vCIO or Fractional CIO services cost?
A: The obvious answer is far less than a full-time person; but, the better answer is two-fold (a) it depends on the size of your organization and (b) what does it cost to not have one?  In some cases, your total spend on Information Technology may go down.

Q: Do you resell equipment or software?
A: SMBCIOs does not generally resell hardware or software, however, we may be able to help reduce the cost or maximize the value of your IT spend. Part of our standard offerings include helping organizations source hardware and software to ensure the best value, but we do not directly mark up and sell products.

Q: What is the difference between “Fractional CIO” and “vCIO” support?
A: These are basically different terms for the same thing, however many organizations have stretched the vCIO label to include a consultant or adviser that works for an IT support or multi-service company that is more focused on technology and product opportunities than the strategic needs of the business.

Q: Will SMBCIOs work with companies outside of the current core service area?
A: Yes, under the right conditions SMBCIOs is happy to consider working with organizations in areas outside of our current core geographic areas.

Q: Will SMBCIOs work with our existing IT leadership or department?
A: Absolutely!
